I have been to Yosemite around ten times by now and in all seasons. Out of all the seasons, winter in Yosemite is the most magnificent.

Every year just for a couple of weeks in February, the Horestail Fall in Yosemite National Park glows like flowing lava at sunset! On this particular day, it snowed on and off all day long and the chances of seeing the firefall were very low. But at sunset, the sky cleared up and we were treated to the most surreal Yosemite experience!

I was walking back to the parking lot after shooting firefall when I saw the moonrise above Half Dome. This is by far, the most beautiful moonrise I have ever witnessed. Something about the snow in Yosemite and the moonlight was otherworldly and magical!
